“More festivity; less electricity” – Saving Electricity Campaign – February 2011
This tag-phrase is borrowed from the Archbishop of Patna’s 2010 pastoral letter, where he urged parishes and families to cut back on extravagant Christmas lights, as their sign of increased responsibility for saving electricity – a source of increasing environmental pollution due to coal-fired power plants. Maitreya will, through letters and pamphlets, undertake an immediate direct-mail campaign to help people become more aware of how they can, in practical ways, save power and also, thereby, save otherwise wasted resources. If you would like to receive literature that is being prepared by Maitreya please

Centering Prayer Workshop: Saturday 5 March 2011
Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other kinds of prayer. Rather, it adds depth of meaning to all prayer and facilitates the movement from more active modes of prayer into a receptive prayer of ‘resting’ in God. Centering Prayer emphasizes prayer as a personal relationship with God and as a movement beyond conversation with Christ to communion with Him.

The Universe Story Weekend Workshop: 26 – 27 March 2011
Based on the book The Universe Story by cultural historian Thomas Berry and cosmologist Brian Swimme, this inspiring workshop takes us on a journey, from the birth of the Universe, through the arising of galaxies, the formation of the Earth, the emergence of life and finally to the development of human consciousness. This two-day workshop, hosted by Maitreya, will be presented by Orla Hazra, PHD. Contact: Ms Leena Lobo at Maitreya (080-2658-3034) or Dr Conlan (direct – 8861-847-512)
